Failed Attempt @ Brenizer Method

This was my 2nd attempt at the Brenizer method.  But just like the first, I failed miserably.  However, I think I understand why it hasn't worked out like I thought it would/should.

You see, it's now clear to me that the Brenizer method will work better... had I been shooting with a FF camera.  I would have been closer to the subject, therefore there would be better compression, lending to thinner DoF.  And with the FF (35mm) able to take advantage of the entire image circle transmitted by the lens... I could still get away with 9-15 photos and get the desired effect.

Instead, I have been (and was/is) shooting with an APS-C sensor.  A significant chunk of the image circle is cropped, so in order to stitch just 9-15 frames together... I'd have to stand further back, thus losing my DoF, and by doing so, I'm not achieving the effect I was looking for.  Else I'd have to take some 30-45 shots to get the same affect as FF and then stitch them in Photoshop.  That's a lot of photos.  You follow?

Well, I'll be able to better demonstrate once I receive the 5D.  Fedex tracking has my 1st 5D possibly being delivered tomorrow.  That is assuming they attempt delivery before 1pm tomorrow.  Else I'll have to just wait until early next week, by which time, I should be expecting my 2nd 5D as well.  (Yeah... it's a long story.)

No, I don't plan to keep both 5D's if anyone was wondering.

BTW, did I mention that I love having my family back?
